But he still coughs up a laugh at the autocorrect. ]

Eren. I will admit some explanation will be nice, if you have one. This app seems to be rather busy.

It’s a long read, but it’s more complete than my personal reports, sir. There’s information from since the first day these anomalies started happening a year ago; I was only aware since September.

[ He's not read through the entirety of it all yet, but he picks the point where the 'what. The. Fuck' goes into 'what. The. Fuck' with a headache to respond to Eren. ]

That makes me feel like a character in a trashy science fiction movie about experiments with mind control thrown into the story. Do things like colors disappearing actually happen?

I can affirm it, and we’re the only ones who realize it. Taste was gone for a month and horses didn’t exist until January.

The employees are pretty vague, but they’ve called them “minor tweeks” to keep the city stabilized.

Tweaks? Now we're getting to the 'or a virtual reality' set of scifi.

This all does explain what some of the people in the update are talking about.

Taste didn't exist for a month? That certainly puts Zack's eating habits into perspective.

There were more than enough complaints, I’ll give you that.

It started coming back slowly, but it’s a real mixed bag, sir. I guess the biggest things to keep in mind are the memories.

[ mister hughes is straight to the point, and that. surprises eren enough to delay, too. it’s a shame his past life was 99% bad to start but. he’ll try. ]

I have. But everyone has bad memories at some point.
Life isn’t that perfect.

[ Division mom strikes again, he's been down on the number of people he's been looking after for the last six months and he kind of misses it. Low key.

Besides, if he's trying to warn Andrew about those memories,
they must be something. ]

Life isn't very perfect, no, but it is not made up entirely of bad things. Whatever these memories or changes may be
I'm pretty sure that whatever I may follow up with will be extremely cheesy. That doesn't make it any less true, but I'll spare you.

It’s appreciated anyway, sir.
But I know what you mean. And I know there’re good things from all this, too.
We’re all getting stronger in ways we never would’ve.
It’s a good idea to still be cautious though. Right?

It's always a good idea to be cautious, and I do thank you for the warning. Even more so for the detailed information, I'm still chewing over it and beginning to feel slight worry [ read: DREAD ] over what is going to be happening this month.

I’ve always thought that.
Sometimes I still have trouble with mine when I get them. Everyone has a different way of dealing with it, so I know it’s not the same for everyone.

It’s not so much getting over them as it is separating them from now, so. Anything’s a good reminder.

Does looking at the people around us who don't have the app help with keeping them separate? Or is it easier to ... not do that?

I don’t know how to tell you that, sir. It’s different for everyone, but I figured I should let you know to be prepared for anything. I know a lot of people who can separate things without a lot of effort.

But these memories feel as real to me as the lives we have now.

I see how that will be difficult, Eren, if both seem equally real.
I can't help much right now, other than listen and do my best understand, but those are freely offered.

I think you should know about the powers too, Mr. Hughes. A lot of people get them.

[ and mister hughes was definitely badass enough to have something big saved for him . . . look at him. how would he not. ]

[ He is nice until it's time to whip you into shape, and then he's really not nice. But even then, understanding. ]

Does that mean that you can do things that most people can't, Eren?

Yes, sir. It’s all a work in progress, though.

I would imagine.
